auditorium parco della musica | rome

Rome is mostly famous for the antique monuments and old buildings in the centro storico, but today I want to share some words and pics from one of the most important modern buildings in the capital.

Auditorium Parco della Musica was inaugurated in 2002. This amazing concert venue was designed by Italian architect Renzo Piano and it consists of three major concert halls, which seen from above look like three giant beetles. Here you can enjoy classical music but also rock and pop concerts and other genres. This is also where Rome's new and still more important international film festival takes place every year in October with all that it implies in terms of red carpets and Hollywood stars.

Auditorium also houses major exhibitions and seminars and the area includes several cafes and restaurants, not to mention a very good bookstore called Notebook, which has everything within the fields of art, design, film and music, and if you want to eat before or after going to a concert, you can have a nice dinner at the chic restaurant RED.

I love walking out here, drinking coffee at the cafe, browsing through the books at Notebook, photographing the beautiful architecture and simply enjoy the relaxed atmosphere.

You can find concert programs and other information on the website of Auditorium.
