Nansensgade is one of those special streets in Copenhagen, which has an almost magic atmosphere.

In Nansensgade you find vintage shops, charming cafes with a bohemian touch, sushi restaurants, Italian take away and gelato, tapas places, ethnic supermarkets, a kindergarden and much more.

As with Jægersborggade on Nørrebro, the people who live and work in Nansensgade have managed to create a very special community and the street has become an area of Copenhagen in itself.

If you go here on a warm summer day you will see shop owners sitting on their doorsteps drinking coffee or wine, and once a year the street has it's annual summer party, which lasts all night long and attracts people from all over Copenhagen.

  4. Hi there!

It hard to believe that I used to roam around Nansensgade 17 some 40 years ago...

Yes, from there I emigrated to America in 1971. Beautiful memories from those days so long ago.
