artists and artisans in florence | joy franklin

This post is part of a weekly series called Artists and Artisans in Florence. For a presentation of the project click HERE.

It's Thursday and that means time for another artist portraiture. Today I am sharing the third and last part of my visit to the jewelry studio and school, Art Studio Fuji. You have already met Naomi and Kenneth and today I am happy to introduce you to the very sweet Joy Franklin who makes beautiful jewelry under the name A Thousand Joys.

Joy is originally from Michigan but has lived in Florence for the past 10 years. She came here to study for a short period, but after only one week she met the man of her dreams and later on she married him.

Below you will find a link to an interview with Joy, published on Sara's blog "When in Florence". I hope you will read it after seeing the photos, in order to get a complete portrait of Joy and her work.

If you would like to be featured in the series, feel free to send me an e-mail at b.brondsted@gmail.com telling me a bit about yourself and your work.
