According to Laura Wandry herself she is American made, Swedish import.
Before and during our photo shoot I was actually convinced that Laura was really Swedish. It was only at the end of the session I suddenly realized that she was American and only "imported" to Sweden. She looks Swedish and she speaks Swedish. Ok, her name should probably have made some bells ring, but apparently I didn't think that much :-)
Laura is originally from Texas, but after falling in love with and marrying a Swede, she moved to Sweden.
Laura is a silver jewelry designer working from Sweden and Florence. In Florence she shares a big studio with other jewelry designers in the lovely Oltrarno area, and this is where I went to meet her.
Besides designing and making beautiful silver jewelry, Laura has also teached silversmithing courses in Tuscany.
Since I will be in Copenhagen (and Berlin) over the next few weeks, we will take a little break with this series, but I will be back again in the beginning of June with new artists and artisans. For now, enjoy Laura!
