Yesterday I traveled to the countryside of Tuscany to shoot this week's portrait for Artists and Artisans in Florence.
I met up with Amy in Florence and together we drove by car to a small village in the middle of the beautiful countryside, where Amy lives with her family, and where she has her studio.
Amy Catherine Lamenzo is originally from Connecticut, but she has several other international roots, and she is actually also Italian.
Besides Florence, where she has lived for the past 20 years, she has also spent periods in Paris and in Rome.
The works of Amy include sculptures, jewelry and paintings, and her studio is nothing less than amazing. Even though it's located in the basement of the villa, where the family lives, it's full of natural light, large paintings stand against the walls, pieces of jewelry are all over the tables, and in the room next door are three giant sculptures, which Amy made some years ago.
From the photos below it is obvious that Amy is super talented (and beautiful!). To that I would like to add, that she is also super nice :-)
Enjoy this portrait of Amy Lamenzo!
