This post is part of a weekly series called Artists and Artisans in Florence. For a presentation of the project click HERE.
After taking a little break from the series, while I was in Copenhagen, I'm back with this week's portrait.
Today I am happy to present Laura Puliti of Laura Puliti Design. Laura is an Italian architect, born and raised in Florence. (And thus actually the first 100% real Florentine artist in this series!)
Laura has an MA in Architecture from the University of Florence, but she has also studied in Venice and in Paris (How lucky can you get!)
I went to visit Laura at her studio in Sesto Fiorentino just before going to Copenhagen. The studio is located on the ground floor of a building, while the first floor has been made into a little apartment, which Laura uses, when she sometimes works late and need to stay for the night.
The calendar you see in some of the photos was designed by Laura last year and made it to a list of best free printable calendars for 2013.
When Laura isn't working within design and architecture, she spends a lot of time writing articles. Lately she has contributed to the German e-mag sisterMAG, where she wrote an article about the artisans in Santo Spirito for the magazine's Italy issue.
Below you will find a link to an interview with Laura, published on Sara's blog "When in Florence". I hope you will read it after seeing the photos, in order to get a complete portrait of Laura and her work.
