On our first night in Berlin, after unpacking and after the rain had stopped, we went to have a quick dinner in our new neighborhood. We had absolutely no idea where to go, and we definitely took the wrong way compared to where the best part of Friedrichshain (in my opinion) is, but luckily we found a great little cafe anyway, where we got a light Italian inspired dinner.
Lavanderia is Italian and means launderette, and it's not just a fancy name. There was indeed a launderette in the back of the cafe!
Lavanderia was a very positive experience and the prices were incredibly low. I had a bruschetta with mozzarella cheese and tomatoes and an amazing creamy vegetable soup (Pumpkin and potatoes, if I remember right).
As you can see from the photos the interior was really cosy with wooden furniture, bare brick walls and lots of candles. Just my kind of place.
