I first visited Eataly in Turin several years ago, and I was immediately completely sold and in love with this giant food mecca.

Not long ago Eataly opened it's doors in Rome in the still more popular neighborhood Ostiense, so when I had a few days in Rome last week (and temperatures were unbearable), a visit to Eataly seemed like the perfect excuse to get some much needed air con, take a few photos and eat some great food.

Located in an old air terminal, Eataly greets you with its three floors of food, wine, bookstores, kitchenware and restaurants. Exclusively Italian products of the highest quality.

Even though prices are pretty high it is really an amazing experience to walk around this giant luxury food mall. We had lunch at a place called L'Orto di Eatly, which sold dishes based on organic vegetables and eggs. Yummi yummi.

You find Eataly in several major Italian cities, and while researching for this post I actually discovered that they open up in Florence in September!
