glyptoteket | copenhagen

I have wanted to update this post with new photos for such a long time, and one week ago I finally managed to visit the museum and take some photos. This time I also discovered the roof top terrace with the very pleasant view over Tivoli.

I'll be back tomorrow with more photos from the amazing winter garden.

If you are an art fan in Copenhagen, you have surely heard about Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek, usually just referred to as Glyptoteket. This is definitely one of the most important museums in Copenhagen with collections of art and artifacts from the Roman empire, Ancient Greece and much more.

The museum is so incredibly beautiful and a walk among the impressive white sculptures is not only an art experience, it is a highly aesthetic pleasure!

At Glyptoteket you also find an amazing cafe which in itself is worth a visit. In a beautiful winter garden you can enjoy some of the best cakes and pies in Copenhagen along with a great cappuccino or a cup of tea or you can have lunch.

Glyptoteket also hosts temporary art exhibitions and you can have guided tours and business events here, but personally I think the best way to visit the place is on your own walking around from one big room to another enjoying the art, followed by a lunch and a dessert in the winter garden. Entrance is free on Sundays.
