I think you all know very well just how crazy I am about Instagram. I love taking snap shots almost every day and over the past three years I have made myself a pretty large archive of Instagram photos!
One of my promises to myself this year has been to start printing my work and so I thought it would be a great idea to start with some of my iPhone snap shots.
I had read about Origrami on several blogs and I had visited their website several times, so I knew I wanted to do the printing with them.
The website works really well. Once you have decided which set of prints you want to buy you simply log in to your Instagram account and then you gain access to all your photos.
I chose the box with square prints, but there are other sets and formats to choose from. With this set I got to choose 36 photos which turned out to be the most difficult part of it all since I have more than 1400 photos and wanted to print so many of them!
If you plan on hanging all 36 photos together in a photo collage I suggest you make sure that the photos you pick go well together in terms of style, colors and motives. I continued to select and deselect until I had 36 prints which I liked and which were just perfect together.
The photos ship from Australia (Origrami offers worldwide free shipping!) but they actually arrived pretty fast. They came in the most beautiful little cardboard box and the result was just perfect. Great colors and a fabulous matte paper. Just the way I love prints!
I still need to figure out where I want to hang them. I may put all of them together in a photo collage or I may divide them into smaller collages and hang them around the apartment. For now I simply enjoy actually holding my work in my hands.
