As you know I attended The Hive blog conference this weekend. I have attended the conference every year since it started in 2012 and it continues to be an incredible event which gives me so much in terms of inspiration and hope for the future of us bloggers.
This weekend I met so many inspiring people. I met bloggers who I already knew from the other conferences (Melanie, Jocelyn, Tina, Peggy), I met bloggers I had followed for a long time but never met in person (Deepa eg.) and of course I discovered NEW bloggers (Niki, Gitte and Malene).
Unfortunately both the workshops I had signed up for got cancelled, so I jumped in on a basics photography workshop teached by Tina and Jack Fussell which was great because it gave me an opportunity to do some still life photography of the vignettes created by Tina, and trust me, this is not the kind of photography I am best at or enjoy the most. You can see the results below.
I also took and advanced SEO workshop even though I had already attended a similar one last year. This was a great choice as well because it turns out you can never learn enough about SEO! Our teacher, Thorbjørn, was excellent.
As for the presentations I enjoyed them all but have to admit that there wasn't a lot of new things for me. To be honest though it doesn't really matter because what is so great about these conferences and the presentations is hearing people tell their stories, how they began and how they got to the point where they are at. It is so incredibly inspiring because every single one of them has one fabulous thing in common: The PASSION for what they are doing.
Before going to the conference I had told myself that after three years of attending The Hive this would probably be my last one. Now I'm not so sure anymore. Next year the conference will return to Berlin where it was held the first two years and I think I may just have to stop by…
A BIG thank you goes out to everyone involved in organizing this fantastic event, to the speakers and to all the participants for making it a fantastic and inspiring weekend.
