september, 1st | today and 20 years ago

If you've followed this blog for some years you may know how much I love September. And especially the date September, 1st holds a special place in my heart. It's like my New Year. I wrote about it last year.

Today is even more special. Today 20 years ago I moved to Italy for the first time. To Rome as an au pair. I was 19 years old. That year spent in Rome became everything I had ever dreamt of and I can still recall the perceptions I had of the city that first year. I can't believe 20 years have gone by. TWENTY!

As a creative entrepreneur (I guess that is what I am, right?) I have new projects going on constantly. In my head and in real life. September is going to be no different and yet everything always feels just a little bit more important in September.

To prepare for this fabulous month I have spent the past week throwing out old stuff and cleaning my apartment (well, let's just say more than I usually do). I am going through all my stuff, tiding up and throwing things out. Fortunately it is something I do quite often, but it is still impressive how many things you keep because you think you may use them some day or because you just can't bring yourself to throw them away. The energy you get from getting rid of useless things is amazing.

Oh, there is actually also another reason for my feng shui attack. I finally bought myself a new couch. And as soon as I manage to get rid of the old one I am going to place my new beauty in my super feng shui'ed living room and I will look forward to cosy evenings with blankets, books and coffee.

Well, that was a lot of words about nothing in particular. I wish you all a happy September. I will be back over the next days with more posts from Copenhagen.
