castello di sammezzano
If you follow me on Instagram you probably know by now that I attended my first Instawalk last Sunday. I had been invited by the English language magazine in Florence The Florentine to join a group of 20 instagrammers for a visit to the magical Castle of Sammezzano.
The castle is located outside Florence, near Arezzo, and it is normally closed to the public. Only on very rare occasions does it open up and when it does hundreds of tickets disappear in just a few seconds. This is one of those places you want to see.
In order to get to the castle you need to walk 30 minutes up hill through a beautiful forest. We arrived in the morning around 9 am and coming from one of the warmest cities in Italy right now it was pure joy to be able to enjoy some green nature and cooler temperatures.
For more info on the Castello di Sammezzano check out this website but for now sit back, relax and enjoy this perfect architectural explosion of colors, patterns, mirrors and lights.
A big thank you to The Florentine for inviting me and to Igersfirenze for organizing this event.
