The other day I came home after having taken my daughter to the kindergarten. As I looked out the window I saw that the light was nothing less than amazing. Soft and hidden behind just the right amount of mist.

I knew exactly what I had to do.

I took the bus to Santa Maria Novella and headed down to the Arno.

It was perfect. The light was soft and it brought out the absolute best of Florence and the amazing pastel colors which you only find along the river from Ponte alla Carraia and down towards Ponte Vecchio.

But I didn't stop at Ponte Vecchio. I continued my walk along the river almost down to Piazza Ferrucci and back again. The light kept changing and I came home with the most amazing colors on my camera.

For more than two hours I walked and walked while capturing how the amazing light brought out the very best colors of Florence. I was high on photography in a way I hadn't been for a long time and it reminded me of this quote which is so true.

Here is a quick preview of snapshots taken with my iPhone. The real stuff is on its way - as soon as I finish the editing.
